Structured on-line courses comprised of webinars and digital training materials provided through the RPS Energy Learning Hub. Learning and development can be delivered remotely to clients and individual participants across all platforms and devices. This blended learning approach can be used in circumstances where participants and tutors are unable to collaborate face to face, by creating a Virtual Classroom.
The Distance Learning solution allows for multiple tutors to contribute to a course, enhancing the learning experience. Additionally, scenario-based exercises can be developed and undertaken remotely.
Modules scheduled with live webinars including tutor interaction timetabled for set events, 1-3 times per week. A course is completed over a period of 2-4 weeks.

RPS Energy Training and Nautilus have always prided themselves on providing the best learning content and materials in the energy training industry. For 20 years, our training manuals have adorned office shelves and filled book cases across the globe of previous training attended by our students. Now, with the same world-class content we can provide all our materials digitally, making learning resources fit for the 21st century.
By taking our manuals digital we've incorporated interactive learning with the latest in technology to create a truly immersive learning experience. Each course page is structured with forum functionality for collaboration outside of the virtual classroom, pre course questionnaires for your subject matter expert to develop personalised learning plans based on experience and knowledge to maximise time spent in the classroom.
We know from experience (our participants tell us so!) that one of the most important and enjoyable parts of our classes are the exercise. This made it essential to include exercises in our distance learning offerings. Throughout webinar sessions and offline between sessions, participants are provided with a range of opportunities to complete group work (in our webinar break out rooms), or individual tasks which are submitted to the Learning Hub, assessed and marked by the instructor, all in the digital space. Practical knowledge for the workplace is at the heart of all our courses, whether learning in the classroom, the field, or online.
Providing an opportunity to communicate tasks, collect work and provide grades and feedback.Participants can submit digital content, such as word docs, spreadsheets, images, or audio and video clips. An assignment can also be used to remind learners of 'real-world' assignments they need to complete offline. Participants can submit work individually or as a member of a group.
When reviewing assignments, instructors can leave feedback comments and upload files, such as marked-up submissions, documents with comments or spoken audio feedback.
Interactive Videos, Question Sets, Drag and Drop Questions, Multi-Choice Questions, Presentations and much more are all integrated into the Learning Hub platform.
User interactions and scores are tracked and are available through the gradebook. Instructors can easily create content using built-in authoring tool making interactive media activities dynamic and personalised.
Quizzes can comprise questions of various types, including multiple choice, matching, short-answer and numerical. Instructors can allow the quiz to be attempted multiple times, with the questions shuffled or randomly selected from the question bank.
A time limit can be set and each attempt is marked automatically. Quizzes feature in exams, mini tests, knowledge checkers or for self assessment. Instructors can also provide hints, feedback and when correct answers are shown to learners.
Software & Computing
Software and computer based training are also offered through Distance Learning. Participants can log into the Learning Hub where details on how to access a personal remote machine with the latest geoscience software are provided.
Through a mix of webinar events, offline activities and software practice sessions participants complete a range of tasks and assignments to maximise their knowledge retention and gain tangible insight into the software which can be directly applied to the workplace.
Our integrated webinar platform (Big Blue Button) provides real-time sharing of audio, slides, chat, video, and
desktop with students. Students are engaged through sharing of emoji icons, polling, and breakout rooms for interactive collaborative sessions. Built-in polling makes it easy to engage
students with instructor questions in real time.
When using the whiteboard tool, annotations are
automatically displayed back to students in real-time. Presenters
also have the ability to zoom, highlight, draw and write on
presentations making points clearer to remote students.
Each session is recorded and made available the next day and for the duration of the course. Any students who may have missed a class or want to review their learning can catch up using the recording.
To give our clients more insight into participant engagement during distance learning sessions we can provide a highly detailed Statistics Report.
When a student participates in a distance learning class, the RPS Learning Hub will capture their user events such as joining, leaving, chatting, raising hand, etc. in order to create a statistics report available on request for staff managers. Participants are tracked via:
Attendance – How long were users in the session?
Participation – How often did users raise their hand, speak, chat, or share an emoji?
Engagement – How often did users respond to polls?
